2009 Alpha Sigma Lambda Inductee

Wouldn’t you like to be recognized for all the hard work that you put in while going back to school online?  I would like the same thing that is why I am overjoyed that I can add being inducted into the 2009 Alpha Sigma Lambda class at Ashford University to my distance education resume.  Besides making the Dean’s list every quarter that I was enrolled this honor is especially sweet to me because of the criteria need to be come a member.

  1. Members are invited
  2. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  3. Must be over the age of 24
  4. Enrolled in at least 12 hours at their school

When I recieved the invitation I was checking my email inbox daily for the word that the induction ceremony was live in Blackboard.  It is befitting that after two years of attending class online that the induction ceremony should also be conducted online.  My only complaint is that I wish that the induction ceremony could have been done in webinar fashion so that all the inductees could attend simultaniously.

Regardless, when I attend the graduation ceremony at the Ashford campus in May I will have the Alpha Sigma Lambda cord to wear and will be receiving my certificate soon to place next to my diploma.  To other ASL members past and present I say congratulations to one and all.  To Ashford ASL members that are attending the ceremony in May, see you there!

    I was also overjoyed to be invited into Alpha Sigma Lambda at Ashford University. The requirements are proof enough that hard work does pay off. I think I received congratulatory emails from almost everyone who was being inducted!

    It is certainly a great honor and not just an award — a REward for all the hard work — research, writing, exams, labs, discussion board postings, and more — that we did at Ashford. Accelerated classes certainly didn’t mean “easier!” It only meant we had to learn more in less time.

      I was also flooded with emails and I agree considering the fact that it is an invitation only society I feel it is the culmination of all my hard work in class. Congratulations to you again.
